The feminist community ran a post on this. It turns out that a right wing paper in England wanted to discredit the EU by printing a story with a lot of facts ommited.
It is going a long way back, but the essential thing is to remember that the whole story did not stand up under investigation.
A lot of supposition and allegations about what might happen, or could happen, in Germany was presented as actual fact.
