maryxmas2007-2008 Shklar Research Fellowships in Ukrainian Studies

The Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University is accepting applications for the Eugene and Daymel Shklar Fellowships in Ukrainian Studies for the 2007-2008 academic year. These fellowships are intended to bring scholars from the international academic community to Harvard for research on projects concerning Ukrainian history, literature, philology, culture, and other fields in the humanities and social sciences. During their residence, Shklar Fellows are also expected to participate in the scholarly life of the University, and to offer a presentation based on original research in one of the Institute's lecture series.
Eligibility: Individuals with an advanced graduate degree (Ph.D., kandydat nauk, and their equivalents) in one of the fields listed above and a demonstrated commitment to Ukrainian studies are eligible to apply. Individuals who have received their degrees within the past ten years are especially encouraged to apply.
Stipends: Eugene and Daymel Shklar Fellows are provided with a stipend of $3,300.00 per month to cover the cost of housing, health insurance, and other living expenses. In addition, the award covers the cost of direct round trip travel to Harvard University.
Fellowship Tenure: Requests for residence for periods from three to eight months will be considered.
