Anne Lamott is so cool. She has a marvelous book about becoming a writer (Bird by Bird. Her history includes alcoholism, being a single mother and even adherence to one of those old time religious forms of Christianity. But she does it all with marvelous warmth, insight, and compassion. And humor. always humor.
