That quote is all wrong throughout (I mean not the quote, that argument).
-- any line of argument that goes for explaining how something is "natural" is inherently suspect (and prima facie useless) -- what does it prove to say that something is natural and what exactly does it mean to be natural?
-- "if it exists, it's natural" is never the right answer. I mean, yes, male lactation exists. So what? It's most likely a by-product of evolution -- unnecessary organs not destroyed in men, existing, but not doing anything (cheaper that way developmentally). How natural is that?
-- why compare it to formula anyway? All these violent attacks on formula are no better than ridiculous anti-abortion ideas you quote above. Both are tools. The idea to use them wisely. Climbing trees and screaming against either is inane and dangerous.
I was amused too. And then asked some alternative parents if they think its bogus. This is what they said: http://www.livejournal.com/community/altparent/1133470.html So now I am all for it. Just too many facts one cannot deny. My husband even wants to try. Well... he likes the idea anyway.
Anybody can try. :-) Do you know how they emptied orphanages in Muslim countries? By selling breastpumps. A much more human approach than ban on abortions. Next time I see a male anti-abortion protester next to a women clinic I am going to ask him to go try to breastfeed an orphan for a while and only then return to his post.
